Following the death of the Black man, there were heated arguments in the United States about religion and ethnicity.
Well, talking about Ahmanud Arbery, he belonged to the African American ethnic group.
The three individuals who were engaged in his murder, Travis McMichael, Gregory McMichael, and William “Roddie” Bryan, were White and American citizens.
The fact that the McMichaels were not apprehended until 74 days after the death, after the video had gone public, raised issues in the United States about racial profiling.
The event was denounced by a number of religious leaders, politicians, sportsmen, and other celebrities.
The trial for Ahmaud Arbery’s killers begins today in Georgia. I was curious if the state’s “citizens arrest” law had anything to do with lynching and of course it does. It was always about giving white citizens control over Black people. https://t.co/cLrSf5UyCK pic.twitter.com/ULjqnqMRW1

The death of his parent’s beloved son, Ahmaud Arbery caused his parents a tremendous deal of grief.
The Southern Poverty Law Center, which believes Arbery’s killing was racially motivated, has called for a federal inquiry into the event.
Prosecutors mention using a racist insult while Ahmaud Arbery lay dying, causing a lot of racial tension. The decision not to arrest the people involved and more than two months delay in charges sparked national outrage, with Arbery’s family attorneys claiming he was racially profiled.
As the trial for the killing of Ahmaud Arbery begins today, I'm thinking of his family and praying for justice, accountability and healing.
Ahmaud—like so many other Black men and women taken too soon—should be here today. We must remember his life and honor his legacy. pic.twitter.com/WVQ4fsyzMl
