Sri Lanka-born venture capitalist, Chamath Palihapitiya, is making headlines amid Uyghur controversy. So, let’s learn more about his religion, ethnicity, and parents in this article below.
Chamath Palihapitiya is an exceptionally successful Bay Area-based businessman and an ordinary member of the Facebook supervisory groups who has served companies like Mayfield Fund and AOL.
Besides, he also has been a conspicuous figure in venture capital business and a multitude of effective internet-based endeavors during their developmental stages.
Moreover, he is the founder and current Managing Partner of The Social+Capital Partnership, a multi-hundred-million-dollar venture capital fund, which he spearheaded recently.
Chamath Palihapitiya’s religion is currently unexplored. Many questions about Chamath being Muslim have been raised. However, it’s quite unsure if he follows the Muslim as his religion.
Born in Sri Lanka, Palihapitiya moved to Canada with his parents as a refugee when he was just 5 years of old. During his childhood, Chamath struggled a lot, as his father was unemployed and his mother worked in a low-paying job.

Chamath Palihapitiya, aged 45, has a Sinhalese ethnicity, whereas holds a Canadian nationality.
A family being moved to Canada as a refugee hasn’t been quite smooth for Chamath in his early childhood. With the bad economic scenario of his home, he eventually worked at Burger King to support his family.
Well, his hard work and dedication did pay off, as now he has established his own name and wealth.

The businessman and venture capitalist Chamath Palihapitiya was born to his Sri Lankan parents on September 3, 1976. His family, however, moved to Canada when he was five.
His father Gamage was presented on the High Commission of Sri Lanka, Ottawa. But after five years, in 1986, the posting came to an end.
Rather than getting back, the family applied for exile status, on the premise that Gamage had been condemned for his perspectives on the savagery during the Sri Lankan Civil War.
Chamath did face an economic crisis in his early life, as his father was unemployed while his mother was housekeeping with low wages. So, to support his family, he worked in a fast-food cafe.
Apart from this, nothing more could be fetched with reference to his parents, just like his family. We are also quite unsure if the businessman has a sibling or not.
