Barbara Eden is an American actress and singer.

People know her for the sitcom I Dream of Jeannie. She also authored Jeannie Out of the Bottle (2011). 

On 17 November 1988, Barbara received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Likewise, she is the 2003 California Broadcasting Hall of Fame inductee – the ceremony took place on 18 July.

Did Barbara Eden Die? Death News – Is She Dead Or Still Alive?

Still alive, Barbara Eden isn’t dead.

However, there are rumors of her death online. The gossip is likely to be fake since media publications haven’t covered the death news. Likewise, the Wall Street Journal published an article on 18 January 2022, revealing how Johnny Carlson helped launch her acting career.

Further, the official confirmation is yet to surface online. Hence, the credibility of rumors is questionable. The actress’ old age seems to be the reason for it.

Although there is a lack of details on the subject, we know a few things about Barbara herself. Her first public performance came as a church choir singer. Likewise, she sang in local bands at nightclubs for $10 per night as a teen. Then at 16, she joined Actor’s Equity and studied singing at San Francisco Conservatory of Music and acting at Elizabeth Holloway School of Theatre.

In 1949, Barbara graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School and later studied theater at City College of San Francisco for a year. She then went on to be 1951 Miss San Francisco.

Beginning her journey with The Johnny Carson Show in 1955, she starred on 91 projects throughout her career that surpassed well over six decades. Despite that, many remember her for the role of Jeannie in the sitcom I Dream of Jeannie. 

Eden received the 1972 Bravo Otto Germany Award and the 2003 TV Land Award.

Barbara Eden’s age is 90 years.

She was born to Alice Mary Franklin and Hubert Henry Morehead on 23 August 1931 in Tuscon, Arizona. Her parents divorced when she was three. After that, she moved to San Francisco with her mother, who then married a telephone lineman Harrison Connor Huffman. Through her step-father, she has a half-sister, Alison Scanlon.

As for Barbara’s health, she seems fine at the moment as she hasn’t disclosed anything related. Nonetheless, the 90-year-old probably has developed some illness with old age.

Further, her mother, born 13 August 1915, died on14 November 1986 due to lung cancer. 

Likewise, Barbara herself was a parent. Her son, Matthew Ansara, from her 17 January 1958 marriage with Michael Ansara, died of an accidental drug overdose on 25 June 2001. His dead body was inside his car at a parking lot in Los Angeles.

Her second pregnancy ended up with her delivering a stillborn baby. She reportedly found out about her child when it was seven months old.

After her divorce from Michael on 25 May 1974, she married Charles Donald Fegert on 3 September 1977. However, that one also ended in divorce. Then, her third marriage took place on 5 January 1991 with Jon Eicholtz, with whom she still lives.
