RIP: Gary Stevens Son Jack Death
Gary Stevens’ son has recently died after a heroic fight with leukemia.
Stevens, who previously played for Everton, disclosed last year that his son Jack, 4, had been diagnosed with Leukaemia, a rare form of blood cancer that affects young children.
Everton had put out a call for donors in September when it was revealed that he had relapsed, and Gary had made up a list of people who could help.
Oliver, Jack’s elder brother, had been a stem cell donor for his initial therapy, but his graph failed, so he couldn’t be used for a second transplant. Gary had previously stated that Cancer is a cunning beast. It gives you a moment to rest before springing back at you. It’s possible that it will be too late for us, but you never know.
Everton announced this morning that little Jack had died away, along with a heartwarming photo of the young youngster with his father.
“The process with leukaemia is one step at a time. But this is a massive step and we are excited and delighted to be told we can take it."
