When Justin Bruening was on the set of All My Children, Bruening proposed to former co-star Alexa Havins on June 5, 2005. Following the recording of a scene in which the character of Jamie Martin proposes to Babe, Bruening proposed to Havins.

Following Bruening’s departure from All My Children, Havins followed suit, and the pair relocated to Los Angeles.
