Nate Holzapfel is a Utah County entrepreneur who gained fame after he pitched his belt designed for missionaries on the Shark Tank. 

In October 2021, Nate was arrested for defrauding a woman out of nearly $200,000. According to the Utah County Attorney’s Office, the Shark Tank contestant might have conned other women to his scheme.

Nate Holzapfel is a married man and has a wife. However, her identity has not been revealed as of yet.

The Shark Tank contestants rose to fame in 2013 after pitching the Mission Belt Co on ABC’s show. After his famous pitch, he pursued a career in consulting and public speaking.

Nate dated other women despite having a wife and allegedly tricked them. On August 30, 2020, he was charged with three counts of communications fraud, a second-degree felony. After selling that woman’s house, he deposited nearly $208,000 into an LLP registered in Alaska that listed Holzapfel and his wife as the general partners.

Born on February 5, 1979, to Richard N. Holzapfel and Jeni Broberg Holzapfel, Nate grew up in Provo, Utah. His family moved to Irvine, California for his father’s schooling, when he was just an infant and later moved back to Utah, when he was 13 years old. 

He founded Mission Belt Co intending to bring recognition to belts. After appearing on Shark Tank and negotiating with Daymond John, his sales increased by over $1 million within three weeks of the show being aired.
